This piece was inspired by the Wild Horse of the Vogelherd Cave. Carved from mammoth ivory and discovered in German cave it is believed to be the earliest known sculpture of a horse (approximately 30,000 years ago). The Wild Horse was among numerous other carved figurines excavated at the cave - lions, bison and woolly, mammoth. The carvings ranged in size from 3cm to 10cm.
