Climate Ambassador 2024
Established in 2017 by An Taisce – The National Trust for Ireland, the Climate Ambassador programme is an initiative to train and support individuals taking action on climate change. Since the programme's launch over 1,000 individuals have been selected to become Climate Ambassadors and this powerful network of volunteers continues to grow.
My journey as a freshly recruited Climate Ambassador beings in 2024 with training and networking in early February. Throughout the year I will be exploring nature based solutions to climate change, taking actions and raising awareness in the community. I'm particularly interested in learning about Blue Carbon – carbon dioxide that is absorbed from the atmosphere and stored in the ocean and coastal ecosystems. I will also be getting involved with bog restoration (raised and blanket bogs). Some of the projects I'm looking forward to working on include:
